5 ways to remove dark circles with aloe vera

    What’s that one thing that makes you look like you haven’t slept for ages? Yes! your dark circles. They pop up without a doubt and will not bother to fade away simply. Dark circles are a common issue among men and women which is so unwanted. 

    They usually appear due to lack of sleep, excessive exposure to computer and mobile screens, natural aging that causes our skin to lose collagen, overexposure to the sun that results in overproduction of melanin in your skin making your skin appear dark. 

    To remove your dark circles, there are many natural ingredients one can go with but one of the most effective ingredients is aloe vera that can help reduce dark circles. Removing dark circles with aloe vera can help you in many ways which are just as follows.

    Your dark circles might appear due to dehydration. What aloe vera does is, helps your skin stay hydrated giving your skin a supple look. Some studies found that women who took an oral supplement of aloe vera had improved their skin’s elasticity as opposed to those who took a placebo.

    Using Potato juice for your dark circles is one of the best remedies you could go for as it contains natural bleaching properties that help improve your skin’s complexion. Furthermore, it has astringent properties that can ease the inflamed skin under your eyes. 


    Potato juice 1 teaspoon
    Aloe Vera gel 1/2 teaspoon

    How to Apply

    1. Start by simply squeezing the juice out from grated potatoes.
    2. Now mix the potato juice with half a teaspoon with aloe vera gel.
    3. Cleanse your face and then apply the mixture around your eyes.
    4. Gently massage your under eyes for about 15 minutes.
    5. Once dried rinse it off with warm water

    You can apply this mixture twice or thrice a week.

    2. Aloe Vera with Honey

    Honey works as a natural moisturizer for your eyes which provides all the nourishment to your skin. Honey can be safely used on the sensitive areas around your eyes. Moreover, it is packed with antioxidants, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that leave results on your skin. Not only it boosts collagen production but can also improve blood circulation which helps lighten dark circles.  


    Honey 1 teaspoon.
    Aloe Vera gel 1 teaspoon

    How to Apply

    1. Mix 1 teaspoon of honey with 1 teaspoon of aloe vera gel to form a smooth paste.
    2. Apply this paste under your eyes and if you want you can also apply this mixture above your eyelids.
    3. Give a gentle stroke and massage around your eyes for a few minutes.
    4. Let the paste sit on your eyes for 15 minutes followed by washing it with warm water.

    You can apply this remedy every night before going to bed.

    3. Aloe Vera with Rose Water

    Applying rose water daily can revitalize your skin and reduce the appearance of dark circles. It contains antioxidants that help in regenerating tissues, strengthening skin cells, and rejuvenating the skin. It also has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties which protect your eyes from redness, contamination, itchiness, inflammation, and dust.


    Rosewater 1 teaspoon
    Aloe Vera gel 1 teaspoon

    How to Apply

    1. Combine equal amounts of aloe vera gel and rose water in a small bowl.
    2. Mix it well.
    3. Apply it around your eyes and gently massage it using the tips of your fingers.
    4. Let it sit for 15 minutes completely.

    You can repeat this process daily to get faster results.

    4. Aloe Vera with Lemon Juice


    Aloe Vera gel 1 teaspoon

    How to Apply

    1. Squeeze out the juice from one lemon in a small bowl.
    2. Now add 1 teaspoon of aloe vera into lemon juice.
    3. Mix it thoroughly.
    4. Apply the mixture to your dark circles and massage it well.
    5. Put it on for 15 minutes and then wash it off with warm water.

    You can apply this mixture one to two times a week.

    5. Aloe Vera with Vitamin E

    Vitamin E capsules, just like a honey, locks in moisture in your skin and make your skin stay hydrated. These capsules prevent free radicals damage caused by UV rays. Being an astringent it also acts as a toner.

    How to Apply

    1. Squeeze the gel out from Vitamin E capsules.
    2. Now add the aloe vera gel into the Vitamin E gel.
    3. Apply it to your eyes and let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes.
    4. Wash it off with water. 

    You can use this process daily.
